Volunteer by the sea, on the bay, or in Fenwick Island

Live in or around the Ocean City area? If you’re willing to lend us a hand and join our most dedicated community of volunteers, check out the volunteer opportunities available and then submit your volunteer application to be considered! Our beach respite houses include the Believe In Tomorrow House By The Sea on 66th Street and the Believe In Tomorrow House On the Bay on 28th Street (both in Ocean City, MD), as well as the Believe In Tomorrow House on Fenwick Island in the Mallard Lakes community of Fenwick Island, DE.

Annual Benefit & Auction Event

We are looking for volunteers for our annual Benefit & Auction on April 26th, 2025 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. This is our largest fundraising event of the year and we need dedicated volunteers who are enthusiastic and ready to help provide a wonderful experience for our attendees!  

Some volunteer tasks include: working registration tables, working the auction table, bid spotters, raffle tickets selling, greeters, bar runners, and more!  Some tasks require being comfortable on a laptop/ipad.  (training will be provided)

The event is from 6pm-11pm.  Depending on your assignment will depend how early you arrive before the event.  We will provide a meal and free parking.  

Age 21+ is preferred.  Minimum age is 18.  

Cookie Baking for Hospital Housing

Add some sweetness by offering our hospital housing families some delicious treats as they are walking to or returning from the hospital. Bring your own ingredients and join us to bake cookies (or any kind of baked goods) at The Residence Inn Johns Hopkins where our families are staying. The wonderful smells will bring warmth, smiles and happy bellies. (2-3 volunteers max due to limited space)

Family Suppers for Hospital Housing

Come host and prepare in-person or sponsor a delicious dinner for our families at The Residence Inn Johns Hopkins which is our temporary home for families while the new Children's House is being built. Volunteers are providing more than just a meal, you are adding to the home away from home environment our families need as they navigate their child's illness.
We are serving a much smaller number of families during this interim time, so 2-3 volunteers max are appropriate for the space. You would bring the food/ingredients, but we have all the kitchen supplies! We will provide more details if interested!

Wish List Drives

Anyone can become a volunteer by organizing and hosting a wish list drive for our facilities.This is especially a great opportunity for school, community, or social groups! Drop off the items to our main office in Catonsville, MD or have them shipped directly to us.  Click here to view our wish lists for each area.  

The House on Wisp Mountain and The House At Deep Creek Lake – Western Maryland
